exhibition description
An exhibition of watercolour paintings of and about two historical shearing sheds west of Tenterfield. One on the Mole River road and the other a few kilometres away on the Bruxner Highway overlooking the Dumaresq. Created over the last twelve months they are typical of the work that this former Goondiwindi artist has become well known for - images of the woolsheds, their interiors, haysheds, yards: the minuatiae of an agricultural busy-ness generations old.
installation
Surrounded by the beautiful furniture pieces by Michael Henrysson, the paintings were hung on the walls of the central gallery space in this building that was the power station at one stage in Tenterfield's history. The official opening speech was made by Philip Harpham who welcomed a large crowd of wellwishers. To read his speech. see attachments section at the end of this page. Music for the afternoon was by the folk band, Welder's Dog, with wines by Reedy Creek Wines.
